Spa FAQ’s

Within our fabulous changing facilities, you will have your personal locker equipped with a bathrobe and towel to use for the day. We also provide hairdryers for your convenience. Please bring your own suitable poolside footwear e.g. flip-flops/sliders. Woodland Spa flip-flops are available to purchase on the day of your visit should you wish to do so.

We recommend allowing yourself two to three hours to complete the Thermal Experience journey; however you are welcome to stay as long as you wish.

We recommend that you book as far in advance as possible for all thermal experience, spa days, spa treatments or spa breaks to avoid disappointment.

In order to maintain the ambience, you would expect from a spa, we limit group bookings to a maximum of eight people per group. We only accept one large group booking per day. For large groups wishing to dine, our restaurants may ask for a pre-order.

We believe in the personal touch and want to make sure that you enjoy your experience with us; we offer such a variety of packages and treatments that’s why we prefer it if you call to book.  It also means we can let you know exactly what we can provide, suggest treatments to suit you and your guests and recommend different packages that you might not already know about; so that we can help to create the perfect spa visit for you.

It is essential that you advise us of any medical conditions and allergies prior to arrival and receiving your spa treatment so that we can ensure they are suitable for you. Please don’t hesitate to ask our advice when you make your booking.

We encourage all pregnant guests to seek advice from their medical practitioner prior to their visit to ensure they are happy to still use our facilities and enjoy our treatments. Every pregnancy is different, and some guests may be suffering other medical issues due to their pregnancy. Our reservations team can offer further advice on booking.

Yes, please do. We will offer a full consultation on arrival. All our therapists have received full training from Amethyst Trust. The course enables therapists to perform treatments on clients living with cancer, safely and confidently. The training is approved by SATCC, Authority for Touch in Cancer Care, set up to regulate the training of cancer massage.

The Woodland Spa is reserved for the use of adults, 16 years and over.

Full payment is required on booking for all spa days, spa breaks and spa packages.

Yes, you can; however, there is an additional cost for using the Thermal Experience facilities. Visit our Spa Days page for current prices.  Booking is essential and subject to availability.

Please provide us with 24 hours’ notice if you are unable to make your appointment/spa package and we will be happy to re-schedule. Otherwise we reserve the right to charge the full amount.

Smoking (inc. E Cigarettes) is not permitted in any of our indoor or outdoor thermal areas. A designated smoking area is provided at the bottom of Bertram’s lift and also adjacent to the outdoor terrace washroom facilities.

Free car parking is available at our resort, our main car park is situated at the front of Crow Wood’s Leisure Club.

Food & Drink FAQ’s

Some of our Spa packages include food and/or beverage; it is also possible to purchase food or drinks from Bertram’s Restaurant or Tapas and beverages from the Terrace Bar during your visit. A water fountain is available in the Thermal Suite; please ensure you keep hydrated whilst enjoying the facilities.

Unfortunately not, if there is any particular reason you need to do this, such as medical conditions please let us know and we will check with the Restaurant that they can cater for your needs.

Alcohol is not permitted inside the Thermal Suite, changing rooms or outdoor pools/hot tubs. Alcohol may only be consumed within the restaurant, Terrace Bar or outdoor seating area.

Yes, we offer dishes created using gluten-free ingredients, vegetarian and vegan options on our restaurant menus. Please let us know of any allergies or special dietary requirements on booking as you may be asked to pre-order 48 hours prior to your arrival. Please note that we cannot cater for special dietary requirements in our Tapas Bar.

It is possible to dine in the restaurant in your spa robes until 6pm after which time you will need to be fully dressed. There is no formal dress code for the restaurant. If you choose to dine or enjoy drinks in the Terrace Bar, robes must be worn at all times.

Accommodation FAQ’s

We have a fabulous, luxury 76 bedroomed hotel just a short walk from The Woodland Spa within the Crow Wood Resort. The hotel is set in 40 acres of private parkland. With spectacular views of Pendle Hill and the surrounding countryside, a beautiful ornamental lake and fabulous gardens, it is a most wonderful place in which to extend your spa visit and create the ultimate  spacation.

Check in is from 3pm and departure is 11am.

Our resort hotel is located just a stone’s throw away. Upon checking into the hotel, you will be directed to The Woodland Spa which is just a very short walk away. We have transport and assistance available for those who require it.

Pets are not allowed in the facility with the exception of guide dogs.

Our Thermal Experience needs to be pre-booked in advance, direct with the Spa Reservations Team, Not all packages include use of these facilities, so if you are unsure, please contact our Spa Reservations Team for further information.

Use of Crow Wood’s leisure facilities (pool & gym) are however included free of charge for all guests staying in Crow Wood Hotel.
